Life Choices

As with any alcoholic, no one can persuade him to stop drinking. No amount of therapy, jail time, or crying or begging by others can get him to think, okay, I’ll stop drinking today. He has to want to do it for himself, and then he must follow the steps to help himself change.

And so it goes with anything in your life that needs changing, be it lose weight, spend more time with your family, etc.    It seems the more indignant and offended you are when somebody else makes a comment about your life choices, the more probable that you have chosen the more sinful path in God’s eyes. On the other hand, if some one makes a comment insulting your life choice and you shrug your shoulders and let the insult roll off, generally your life choice is more pleasing to God.
