Welcome to the Catholic Wide Web according to me, Kathy Stocki. As I grow in my faith I am finding out about all the things I just don’t know, all of the ministries that other people are working on, the issues of the faith on personal and political levels, the beauty and the saving graces of the faith. So as I learn I will share that knowledge here.
A little about myself. I am a cradle Catholic, but was quite apathetic about the faith, then about 20 years ago I slowly began my faith journey. I didn’t even realize I was on the journey until about ten years ago. Then my mom got sick with cancer and a Catholic radio bumper sticker appeared about the same time. Catholic radio and Fr. Corapi have shown me the way home. (Yes, I know. Fr. Corapi…. but his catechism series was invaluable to me at the time.) Once I became somewhat stable in my faith life, God started me on another journey. One of physical healing. I was all messed up, but traditional medicine wasn’t helping me. So I began a “holistic” healing journey. Sadly, I found Catholic sites that have dissed all of holistic healing modalities as “new age”. I have now added another component to my journey, discovering what is and isn’t acceptable to a Catholic in search of “alternative” healing, because many of us have lost “faith” in the traditional medical culture. God created us to be wonderfully made, with the gift of healing. Natural healing is from God, we just need to sort out the mess and confusion!
p.s. I am doing my best to make sure that all of the Catholic websites that I link to are faithful to the Magesterium of the Catholic Church. But if I do end up linking to a site that is schismatic or otherwise against the Catholic Church or the Pope please let me know. Thanks again.

#Reasons to Believe in Jesus
Reasons to believe Jesus is alive in a new life with God can be found in quotes from two prominent atheists and a biology textbook.

Sartre speaks of the “passion of man,” not the passion of Christians. He is acknowledging that all religions east and west believe there is a transcendental reality and that perfect fulfillment comes from being united with this reality after we die. He then defines this passion with a reference to Christian doctrine which means he is acknowledging the historical reasons for believing in Jesus. He does not deny God exists. He is only saying the concept of God is contradictory. He then admits that since life ends in the grave, it has no meaning.
From the title of the book, you can see that Nagel understands that humans are embodied sprits and that the humans soul is spiritual. He says, however, that dualism and idealism are “traditional” alternatives to materialism. Dualism and idealism are just bright ideas from Descartes and Berkeley. The traditional alternative to materialism is monism. According to Thomas Aquinas unity is the transcendental property of being. Campbell does not even grasp the concept of monism. The only theories he grasps are dualism and materialism.
If all atheists were like Sartre, it would be an obstacle to faith. An important reason to believe in Jesus is that practically all atheists are like Nagel and Campbell, not like Sartre.
